On the way: Stopped at a convenience store for breakfast. Madison became the “DJ” of the group using Bluetooth music.

Tomi no Oka Winery

Participated in Vineyard Walk Tour and Wine Cellar Tour.

Tasted red and white wines; guests commented, “Japanese wine is sweet and fruity; American and European wines are stronger.” Especially enjoyed orange wine.

Planner tasted non-alcoholic grape juice (slightly sweet but delicious).

Château Mercian Katsunuma Winery

Discovery Tour at 13:30.
Guests liked the homely atmosphere. Tasted 2 reds and 2 whites; one red described as “muddy flavor” (disliked).

Planner tasted non-alcoholic sparkling wine (very delicious).

Essential Activity! Viator review: My friends and I live in Tokyo and wanted a mini get-away to this beautiful wine region situated at the basin of Mt. Fuji. This tour was ESSENTIAL to us enjoying our time to its fullest here. While one could train there and back to the city, the wineries themselves are very spread out and mind you the walks are all steeply up hill of the mountains. It’d be very inconvenient to walk place to place. Renting your own car is an option to some, but then you can’t drink and enjoy the wineries. But now having a PRIVATE tour with a DRIVER who’s KNOWLEDGEABLE and takes you to the BEST KNOWN WINERIES in the area (plus TOURS of vineyards, cellars, and facilities OF ALL)?! That’s worth the money and time, as well makes the experience overall all the better! I’m so glad to have picked this specific booking because they gave us access to Suntory, Chateau Mercian, and L’Orient… 12 full glasses of wine in 6 hours plus complete tours… INSANE! I could have never been able to book these places myself. The person I communicated with on Viator was awesome, efficient, and worked magic as I booked very last minute and he was still able to get us reservations to all these places. Our driver and tour guide, Douglas (shoutout Douglas), was great, kind, knowledgeable, and professional. I’ve already told many people about this booking and how much fun it was.

Personally very moved, as it was a first-time experience. Grape juice at Tomi no Oka was delicious but slightly sweet. Non-alcoholic sparkling wine at Château Mercian was excellent and worth repeating.
Managed unexpected situations smoothly, such as Emma’s check-in and adjustments during the day.
